Remember the good old hay stacking days?
|
| Grandpa’s farm was the place to be especially during hay season. The valley was filled with the pure sweet scent of alfalfa. Whirling gears of horse drawn mowing machines clattered a matchless rhapsody. Buck rakes and slips, pitchforks and derricks oh those marvelous derricks energy filled memories of wrestling jags atop fluffy stacks. And Grandma’s dinner for the hay crew. What a feast! What an era!
You can still swing on the hanging derrick cable. Chew one more drying stem. Relive the time in a flourish of black and white photos from history’s archives and more shot by the author in living color. Glimpse back to that wonderful, simple world. Remember how it was or how it may have been those delightful, carefree, childlike days we knew as Bringing In The Hay. |
